The California Highway Patrol is investigating two separate freeway shootings that occurred in Contra Costa County Wednesday night.
The two victims involved were not hurt, and the shootings do not appear to connected at this time, according to the CHP.
The first shooting occurred around 9:45 p.m. along northbound Interstate 680 just south of Treat Boulevard, according to the CHP.
The victim thought his window had been broken by a bottle hurled by someone else, the CHP stated. The victim later realized there was a bullet fragment in his vehicle, prompting him to call authorities.
At around 11:15 p.m., a separate shooting happened along eastbound Highway 4 near Highway 242, according to the CHP.
The victim and suspect were said to have exchanged some words before the suspect shot at the victim's vehicle, according to the CHP.
Investigations into both shootings are ongoing.
