Some welcome, albeit brief showers returned to the Bay Area Sunday morning with drizzle reported in several locations as of 9:30 a.m., forecasters said.
For portions of the North Bay Monday afternoon, there may see a chance for a few more showers before the forecast trends drier and much warmer later in the week.
According to NBC Bay Area meteorologist Rob Mayeda, inland East Bay and Tri-Valley saw some showers just before 6:30 p.m. Some of the rain was also dropping though the Santa Clara Valley. Mayeda said that temperatures will rise 20 to 30 degrees warmer and drier by midweek.

Cool air aloft and daytime heating may trigger a few convective showers near the local mountains especially Lake County, Napa County and those showers will weaken as they move south into the evening.
Things trend drier and warmer for Tuesday with some north breezes picking up as high pressure builds in.

Highs will likely climb into the 80s inland by Wednesday and Thursday then trend cooler into next weekend as onshore winds increase again. But unlike this weekend, future rain chances will likely stay farther north, typical as we head into the month of May, which is more of transition month to the dry season approaching Summer.
