San Jose fire officials said a fire has been knocked down at an auto dealership Monday evening, fire officials said.
Multiple people reported the fire at 7:05 p.m. at a dealership on South First Street near West Humboldt Street.
The fire started behind the building. An employee went to the rear of the building with a fire extinguisher but the fire roared in from the alleyway, fire spokesman Capt. Brad Cloutier said.
No one was injured, he said.
But "there is pretty significant damage to the entire office space," Cloutier said. He said the dealership may have to close for some time.
No additional information was immediately available.
