A man died Tuesday after he was shot Monday night in San Jose, and a suspect was arrested, according to the police department.
The shooting occurred in the 2100 block of Almaden Road, the department said at about 6:40 p.m. The victim, identified only as an adult male, died at the scene, police said.
Homicide detectives on Tuesday identified and arrested 83-year-old Bert McElhaney, and he was booked into Santa Clara County jail on homicide charges, police said.
The motive was unknown and under investigation, police said.
It's the 20th homicide in San Jose this year.
