Several people were hurt following overnight sideshows in the East Bay Sunday.
The sideshows were reported in San Pablo, Richmond and Oakland. One of the sideshows went onto the Bay Bridge.
In Oakland, a red Ford Mustang was doing donuts when it hit a crowd of people. The incident was caught on video. One woman was run over. Her condition was not known.
Another sideshow was reported on the eastern span of the Bay Bridge Saturday night.
One truck involved in the sideshow tail-whipped a crowd of people who were watching. The sideshow on the Bay Bridge lasted about 20 minutes before the crowds left.
"Certainly, we have always had challenges when it comes to public safety, but not at the level that we have today," said Councilmember Noel Gallo. "I was out there this morning. I did see cars that ran over street posts, ran over signs that are left on the streets, and they were part of side shows cuz they burn their tire and leave the car there."
NBC Bay Area has reached out to several East Bay police agencies and the California Highway Patrol for more information on the incidents.

However, the Oakland Police Department posted on social media warning that people who partake in sideshows could have their vehicles towed.
"OPD will collaborate with law enforcement partners to enforce impaired driving and illegal sideshow activities," read the department's post on X, formerly Twitter.

A few weeks ago, the California Highway Patrol and San Francisco city leaders addressed the community and said they would work to crack down on sideshows after complaints about dirt bike riders who took over Oakland and San Francisco streets.
"They will schedule them on a specific day, but we don’t necessarily know the time, so we are constantly monitoring those to try and get updates as to where they’re going to end up," said Don Goodbrand of CHP, at the time.
Separately, the department is also investigating two separate shootings that left three people dead.
The first shooting took place in the 600 block of 23rd Street just before 4:30 p.m., according to police. Officers responded to a report of a shooting and found two victims with gunshot wounds, police said.
Despite efforts by paramedics to save them, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The second shooting occurred in the 10500 block of E Street just after 8 p.m. Saturday. Officers responded to the area to investigate a ShotSpotter activation, according to police.
When officers arrived, they found a victim with a gunshot wound or wounds, police said. Paramedics tried to save the wounded person, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
"The bottom line is we do need more law enforcement on the streets, and you commit the crime, you will do the time," said Gallo said.
