A spring storm moved across the Bay Area Saturday, bringing rain, thunder, hail to the region and snow to Northern California.
Thunderstorms and hail were reported around the region Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
Thunder and lightning was particularly noteworthy in the South Bay, where the weather service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning near Morgan Hill.
In San Jose, a video shot by viewer William Justo showed a lightning strike on a plane over the area of Monterey Road.
Lightning strikes are more common than some might think. According to aviation experts, most commercial planes are hit by lightning at least once a year.
Also in the South Bay, a brief hailstorm hit San Jose and Morgan Hill Saturday afternoon. One video showed the tiny pellets piling up on a front porch.
The Peninsula also saw hail, rain and thunder. Two videos posted by NBC Bay Area anchor Raj Mathai showed hail falling in the Belmont area.

Wind speeds of 60 mph were reported as part of the stormy weather, which is expected to decrease into Sunday, according to the weather service.
