Student Arrested for Bringing Loaded Handgun to Village High School in Pleasanton, Police Say

A Pleasanton student was arrested for allegedly bringing a loaded handgun on campus.

Police said the student was arrested at 11:16 a.m. Monday at Village High School, a continuation high school located at 4645 Bernal Avenue. Officers responded to the campus after school officials reported the student was possibly in possession of a concealed handgun.

No other weapons were located.

Police said the student was arrested for possession of a fiream on school grounds and was transported to juvenile hall. It is not known why the student was carrying a gun, police said.

No other information was immediately available.
