San Francisco's Union Square was abuzz with activity Wednesday but it wasn't all about the shopping.
Police and bomb squads were called to the scene at about 12:30 p.m. on reports of a suspicious package in the area.
The San Francisco Department of Emergency Services issued a voluntary evacuation and shelter-in-place order and there were conflicting reports that Macy's had been shut down because of the threat.
Officials gave the all clear around 2 p.m.
No injuries were reported, but traffic and public transportation in the area was impacted.
