Tommie Smith, John Carlos Inducted into Hall of Fame
More than 50 years ago they held up their fists in protest. On Friday, a long overdue honor was given to civil rights icons and Olympic medalists Tommie Smith and John Carlos when they were formally inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held in Colorado Springs, but after the ceremony Smith flew back to San Jose where he was greeted by a cheering crowd. Ian Cull reports.
