Vallejo Wildfire Sparked By Vehicle on Interstate 80

A wildfire in Vallejo sparked by a vehicle fire on Interstate Highway 80 has been extinguished, firefighters said late Wednesday.

The fire started on the eastbound side of the highway near the toll plaza, the Vallejo Fire Department said via Twitter around 4:45 p.m.

Firefighters estimated the size of the blaze at 10 to 30 acres. The incident temporarily blocked lanes of traffic on the freeway, but no homes were threatened.
