Merkel Visits Scene of Attack in Berlin

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other senior officials on Tuesday visited the scene of a deadly attack on a Berlin Christmas market and laid flowers at a makeshift shrine to the victims. Merkel told reporters on Tuesday that it would be “particularly sickening” if it turns out the attacker was an asylum-seeker who sought refuge in Germany. Twelve people were killed and scores of others injured.
