A Democratic bill to raise the federal minimum wage hit a roadblock on Wednesday when Senate Republicans blocked the legislation. The bill was six votes shy of the 60 needed to advance election-year legislation to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 over the span of 30 months. President Obama criticized the Republicans after the vote, saying, about three in four Americans support raising the minimum wage. "This is a very simple issue, either you're in favor of raising wages for hardworking Americans, or you're not," he said.
