“Killer Joe”

Matthew McConaughey stars in the title role as a cop who moonlights as a hitman, who is hired by a man, played by Emile Hirsch, who wants his mother dead so he can collect on her insurance. Short the advance for Joe’s services, he must give him his younger sister, Juno Temple, as a retainer. Directed by William Friedkin, this NC-17 film opens July 27.
