Former Arizona congresswoman Gabby Giffords went sky-diving Wednesday to mark three years since a gunman gravely wounded her in a Tucson parking lot, in a shooting that left six people dead and 12 others wounded. She told "Today" show's Savannah Guthrie on Thursday in an exclusive interview that the jump was her way to tell everyone what mattered. “I’m alive,” she said. Giffords had loved to sky-dive but hadn't done it since she was shot three years ago. After extensive rehabilitation therapy, she has regained small movements in her once completely paralyzed right arm, but is frustrated by her inability to speak in complete sentences. Guthrie — as well as Giffords' mother and husband Mark Kelly — accompanied her for the triumphant jump. Vice President Joe Biden called just before she made the jump in the Tucson, Arizona desert. “I tell you what. You’ve got more spunk, as my mother would say, than the 10 best people I know," he told Giffords.
