At least some of Pat Sajak's corny jokes can be attributed to hosting under the influence.
In an interview with Dan LeBatard on ESPN2 Tuesday, the chatty game show host recounted the early days in Burbank when he and Vanna White would head to a Mexican restaurant between tapings for "two or three or six" margaritas.
"The average number was cuatro," he said. "I had a great time, I have no idea if the shows were any good, but no one said anything, so I guess I did okay."
The interview is chock-full of other Sajak memories: There was an encounter with Lucille Ball ("She tapped me on the shoulder and said you know what I like about you? You're not just funny, you think funny"); a meeting with Dr. Dre ("You know what? I found out he's not actually a doctor!"); and plenty of ribbing from LeBatard who called out Sajak's outdated war stories.
