First to 75: DeSclafani returns, leads Giants past Rockies originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Anthony DeSclafani missed a turn through the Giants' rotation as he dealt with right shoulder fatigue, but he returned to the mound Friday night, and his arm looked fresh.
In his first outing since Aug. 2, DeSclafani went five strong innings in the Giants' 5-4 win over the Colorado Rockies at Oracle Park. San Francisco improved to 75-41 this season and now has won six straight games.
In those five innings, the veteran right-hander allowed five hits, two earned runs, two walks and struck out four. He threw just 82 pitches and picked up his 11th win of the season.
The Giants offense gave DeSclafani four runs of support in the bottom of the first inning, and that was all he needed, although things got close in the end.

Donovan Solano followed with a walk and Mike Yastrzemski moved him to second with a single. Then, Thairo Estrada, starting against lefty Austin Gomber in place of Brandon Crawford, singled to left to bring home Solano, giving the Giants a 4-0 lead.
Darin Ruf capped the scoring for the Giants in the second with an RBI single to score Slater, who doubled for the second straight inning.
Crawford, who agreed to a new two-year, $32 million contract extension with the Giants earlier on Friday, didn't play in the game, but he still got a nice ovation from Giants fans when he was shown on the video board.
Jay Jackson, Tony Watson and Tyler Rogers kept the Rockies off the board for three innings, before Jake McGee gave up a two-run homer to former Giant Connor Joe to make the score a little closer. The lefty closer gave up a pair of two-out hits to Brendan Rodgers and Charlie Blackmon and was replaced by Zack Littell, who wiggled out of the jam to preserve the win.

The Giants have taken care of business this week, having won the first four of the nine-game homestand after winning the final two games in Milwaukee last weekend.
With the rotation leaking oil recently, DeSclafani's return was a welcome sight for the Giants as they continue to hold off the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West race.
