Klay reveals goal for next Warriors season on IG Live originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Klay Thompson was living his best life Saturday when took his boat out for a spin in the Bay.
The Warriors star elected to share the journey with Dub Nation, going live on Instagram to answer questions and share his joy of boating with the social media world.
At one point, Thompson, who has missed the last two seasons due to a torn ACL and torn Achilles, was asked how many points he'll score next season. When one follower suggested 28, Thompson revealed one of his goals for next season.
"Twenty-eight points per game?! That's a lot man," Thompson said. "I'm going to take a dub and some great defense, how about that? Fifty, 40, 90, that's the goal."
Later on in the stream, Thompson reiterated he just wants to do whatever he can to help the Warriors win next season.

"How many points am I going to average next year? You know, I'm not going to put an expectation on it. I just want to be an efficient player. I want to have a positive impact on the hardwood. That real plus-minus stuff. That analytical stuff, you feel me?"

The Warriors have missed Thompson over the past two seasons, and while his return won't fix all their issues, it should alleviate some of the offensive burden that was put on Steph Curry this past season.
Thompson spent the season on the bench supporting his teammates as he rehabbed his torn Achilles. When the Warriors' season ended with a play-in game loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Steve Kerr made sure to give Thompson a message that his return was near.
"I think it was, in a strange way, the end of the season for Klay has meant the end of his time apart from the team," Kerr told reporters in his end-of-season press conference. "Even though he was with the team, he never felt a part of it since he wasn't playing. We had our exit meeting the next day and I was like, 'Klay you're back. The next time we get together, you're a part of this. You're on the floor.'"
And whenever Thompson does finally take the floor at Chase Center, the ovation might be the loudest in the building to date.
