Giants' promotional schedule has four bobbleheads, captain's hat originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
The April 8 home opener at Oracle Park might be in doubt given how the lockout negotiations are going, but the Giants still are planning for a full season, and on Monday they released a promotional schedule that has a few notable highlights.
The first giveaway of the season will pay homage to last season's funniest storyline, with the Giants giving out captain's hats on April 9 against the Miami Marlins. They also will hand out four bobbleheads this season, although only two have been announced thus far: a Matt Cain perfect game bobblehead day will be held June 12 and E-40 bobbleheads will be given out June 25.
There also is a to-be-announced bobblehead on July 2 (Seiya Suzuki, perhaps?) and a bobblehead giveaway on Aug. 13 as part of the celebration of the 2012 World Series team (Marco Scutaro looking at the sky seems appropriate). The Giants previously announced the 2012 reunion, along with a day to celebrate Buster Posey (May 7) and the jersey retirement ceremony for Will Clark (July 30).
The Giants have traditionally gone big on promotional days, but this is the third consecutive year that the giveaway schedule might be impacted in some way. They had to shelve all promotions in 2020 and give those items away in 2021, and even last year's schedule was a bit light because the organization wasn't sure when fans would be allowed back at Oracle Park.

It's looking more and more likely that this season's schedule could be impacted by the lockout, which is approaching the 80-day mark. Pitchers and catchers were originally scheduled to report to Scottsdale Stadium on Tuesday.
Teams have continued to push ticket sales during the lockout and single-game tickets go on sale for Giants games this Friday at 8 a.m. Here's a look at some other giveaways on the current schedule:
