Steph perfectly sums up facing KD again with one-word answer originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Kevin Durant looked like ...
... Kevin Durant on Tuesday night.
Playing in his first regular season game since tearing his right Achilles tendon in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals, the two-time NBA Finals MVP recorded 22 points (7-for-16 FG), five rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block over 25 minutes in the Brooklyn Nets 125-99 win over the Warriors.
So Steph Curry -- what was it like going against your former teammate again?
"Awful," Curry said with a straight face before laughing after a couple second pause. "We got our butts beat across the board. One game, we'll figure it out. Don't want to put too much on this one. We're still figuring each other out.

"With KD out there -- he looked like he was all the way healthy, confident in his body. Good to see, obviously, from a health standpoint. That means a lot to come off an injury like that."

To make matters worse, Curry struggled shooting the ball as he went 7-for-21 overall and 2-for-10 from deep (but he really was 2-for-8 because he missed halfcourt heaves at the end of the first and second quarters).
The three-time NBA champion now is 27-for-92 (29.3 percent) in his career across 12 Opening Night games. Kind of crazy, right?
As for KD, Steve Kerr was thrilled with what he saw from the future Hall of Famer.

"He looked exactly the same to me," Kerr told the media. "I couldn't tell, at all, that he was coming off of an Achilles injury. I'm really, really happy for him.
"When you think about what he's been through and everything he did for us -- helping us win a couple championships and everything he did for our fans -- the three years that he spent with us were amazing.
"We all feel very strongly about how happy we are for Kevin that he's back and playing at a high level."
