Ever since Jim Harbaugh became an NFL head coach in San Francisco, he’s been a 49er through and through.
Now we have evidence that the 49ers thread runs through his entire family.
Harbaugh and his wife, Sarah, Tuesday celebrated the birth of their first son, Jack, reports Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group. Numerically speaking, little Jack’s arrival just before the start of a new season Sunday in Green Bay might be a sign Harbaugh's team is about to be blessed.
The news was first tweeted Wednesday by a longtime Harbaugh buddy, Dave Feldman, who wrote: “Coach points out Jack was born on the 4th day of 9th month. Pretty good karma for 49ers!”
Little Jack is named after his grandfather, a successful, longtime college coach and father to NFL coaches Jim and John Harbaugh (with the Baltimore Ravens). This is Harbaugh’s third child with Sarah, joining sisters Addison and Katherine. Harbaugh has three children – including two sons – from his first marriage.
Jim Harbaugh reportedly had to quickly leave team headquarters Tuesday when he learned Sarah was in labor, and had to miss the scheduled shooting of the 49ers’ team picture.
Reports indicated that both Sarah and Jack are doing well.
