Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch's driving under the influence trial in California came to a close Thursday after the NFL star agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge of reckless driving, according to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.
The agreement calls for Lynch to pay a $1,053 fine, attend DUI school for 12 hours and serve two years of probation.
Lynch was arrested in July 2012 on investigation of driving under the influence after he was pulled over on a freeway in Oakland.
Ivan Golde, Lynch's attorney, says he believes that Lynch had a strong enough case to win at trial, but said the Oakland native did not want a public trial considering his high profile with the Seahawks coming off a Super Bowl victory.
