‘Shave-A-Thon' Cancer Fundraiser in Oakland Raises More Than $200,000

Bald was beautiful on Saturday in Oakland, where a fundraiser beneffiting cancer patients saw many people come out to shave their heads in solidarity. UCSF Benioff Children’s Hopspital hosted the event, which is in its 9th year and is officially titled the “St. Baldrick’s Shave-A-Thon.” The event has raised a total of $1.5 million since it began, with this year’s event setting a fundraising goal of $250,000.
