Fire Trucks Stolen From Firefighters in Mariposa County

A disturbing story coming out of Mariposa County where thousands of firefighters are battling the Detwiler Fire. Someone has been stealing from firefighters. The Sacramento Bee reports two radios, two firefighting helmets and and iPhone were stolen from fire trucks on Monday. It happened while firefighters were resting in motels in Merced, after their 24-hour shifts. Five thousand firefighters are battling the wildfire, which has consumed more than 81, 000 acres. It’s now up to 70% containment.
