Monkey Selfie Lawsuit Kicks Off
The battle over a monkey selfie heads to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco Wednesday. The court will hear arguments on whether or not a monkey has the copyright to a selfie it took. The case stems from an episode four years ago when a monkey took a camera from a photographer and snapped his own picture. The animal rights group PETA argues the monkey owns the rights to the photo. A lower court ruled last year that the selfie does not belong to the animal.
