Palo Alto native Lily Zhang is moving on to the round of 16 in women's singles table tennis at the Paris Olympics.
Zhang, a five-time Olympian, dispatched Brazil's Bruna Takahashi 4-2 in her round of 32 match Monday.
The United States has not won a medal in table tennis since it was introduced as an Olympic sport in 1988.
