David DePape, the man who attacked Nancy Pelosi’s husband in their San Francisco home two years ago, was sentenced to life without parole Tuesday on his state conviction.

A man who bludgeoned Nancy Pelosi’s husband with a hammer and was sentenced to 30 years in federal court was also convicted Friday of aggravated kidnapping by a state court which could put him behind bars for life.

David DePape was convicted Friday of aggravated kidnapping by a state court. This comes after federal judge last month sentenced David DePape to 30 years in federal prison for the 2022 attack against Paul Pelosi.

A judge on Thursday dismissed several state charges against Paul Pelosi’s attacker, who was convicted in federal court last month, based on the argument that the counts fall under double jeopardy, according to the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office.

Paul Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, took the stand in the state trial of David DePape on Friday.

David DePape, the man convicted of assaulting Paul Pelosi in 2022, got his chance to speak in court Tuesday before he was resentenced to 30 years in prison.
