A year after an open window broke in high winds at the troubled Millennium Tower, building officials recently told the city they have installed stronger equipment to better secure windows in, so far, 29 of the high-rise’s 419 units.

NBC Bay Area’s Raj Mathai spoke to Investigative Reporter Jaxon Van Derbeken, who’s been exposing the problems at the San Francisco Millennium Tower for years, about the progress — or lack thereof — when it comes for inspections and changes.

It’s been six months since San Francisco’s Millennium Tower was fully supported to stop it from sinking and leaning. While the project was hailed as an immediate success, the high-rise now appears to be sinking in the middle. Raj Mathai speaks with Jaxon Van Derbeken on this.

With work finally over on the so-called fix of the Millennium Tower, residents are now saddled with a $6.8 million bill out of an estimated $20 million in cost overruns on the long delayed and troubled retrofit project.
