The blaze, dubbed the Summit Fire, grew to approximately two acres and has been contained, according to Cal Fire. The agency added that the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office was conducting evacuations along Alta Vista.

Forward progress has been stopped after firefighters responded to a fire Saturday night that forced evacuations near Highway 17 and Summit Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
