Rob's Forecast: Weekend Wind and Rain
Our next storm will have access to an atmospheric river, or plume of higher than average moisture which should power up some higher rain rates per hour esp. over the coastal mountains. Its possible we’ll see 2”-5”+ rain totals for the mtns, esp for areas near the Santa Cruz mtns down to the Central Coast, with 0.75” to 2.00” totals for the valleys around the Bay Area. Rain and wind will increase by midday Saturday and evening, with rain at times into Sunday. Winds will gust from 40-60 mph near the coast and hills, and strong southerly to southeasterly winds will reach into the valleys, esp. South Bay at times during the day Saturday into Sunday. The pattern still look fairly wet into Monday, before things change over to decreasing showers by later on Monday into Tuesday.
