Slightly Warmer Sunday

SLIGHTLY WARMER SUNDAYDespite low clouds spilling in all the way to the Central Valley this morning, we’re beginning to see some changes that will lead to a warmer finish to the weekend. High pressure building in toward the West Coast will lead to northerly winds to pick up later in the day and compress down the marine layer back below 3,000 ft. This should allow our valleys to reach the 70s and possibly near 80 in the warmest spots around the East Bay and Delta, while coastal areas should see a little more sunshine and slight warming as well. Monday may provide one more warm day inland, however the sea breeze will increase again late in the day and cool things off rapidly into the evening.MONDAY NIGHT LUNAR ECLIPSE FORECASTThe renewed push of marine air and low clouds may spoil viewing of the lunar eclipse Monday night. For now the best areas to view the eclipse may be early in the night for inland valleys in the East Bay or hilltop locations. We’ll hope the low cloud cover remains somewhat patchy so at least provide some viewing opportunities! Cooling temps look to be the trend for the middle part of the week as well though no rain is expected as weather systems pass by to the north through Friday.Rob Mayeda
