Forecast: Heat wave as tropical moisture moves near

Hot high pressure will help to bring in some tropical moisture near the coastline.

NBC Universal, Inc. Chief Meteorologist Jeff Ranieri tracks the heat into the weekend. Plus, what will finally drop temperatures in your Microclimate Forecast.

FRIDAY: We're tracking more heat today but there's also tropical moisture to the south that will bring in some high clouds at times with a touch of humidity. Right now, best thunderstorm chances go to the central Sierra, we'll have the radar scanning for anything that tries to move close. Otherwise, temps will only dip a few degrees and keep plenty of hot weather inland as 90s to low 100s return, 70s to 80s bay, 60s to low 80s San Francisco and 60s to 70s at the coast. Heat warnings remain in effect into Friday night. More on the heat and what will eventually help to bring some Fall air to the Bay Area in your full Microclimate Forecast VIDEO.
