bay area weather

Forecast: Slight weekend cooling, heat returns next week

NBC Universal, Inc.

SATURDAY: A welcome change for the weekend with some short term cooling and mostly mild temps to wrap up the weekend.

High pressure however builds back strongly into the work week leading to three days of hot temps, including for areas not so accustomed to seeing 90s around the inner bay.

The hottest days appear to be Tuesday and Wednesday with air quality issues possible and elevated fire danger especially inland areas and hills where the combo of hot days and warm nights with occasional offshore breezes will keep things very dry.

If you live in an area near San Francisco, the Peninsula or inner East Bay without A/C, or have kids in schools, be sure to make adjustments to outdoor plans as tempertures could climb well into the 90s bayside and possibly 100s in a few areas too. Valleys will likely see 90s-100s over the three day stretch with the hottest temps Tuesday-Wednesday, with the Tri-Valley and inland East Bay possibly seeing hottest temps into Wednesday.
