bay area weather

Forecast: Fall brings Summer-like temps ahead

Hot high pressure will bring isolated inland heat by the weekend.

NBC Universal, Inc.

MONDAY: Heat advisories return for inland areas Monday through Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. This should be one of the shorter heat events we’ve seen this year, provided the onshore winds increase Wednesday as a storm moves into the Pacific Northwest.

The largest metro areas affected include San Jose—Tri-Valley to the inner East Bay—SF/Oakland excluded. The National Weather Service did not include the North Bay, although inland temps there will be well into the 90s and still quite hot, especially compared to the mostly mild weekend.

Elevated fire risk: Inland hills after the hot days/warm night combo – even as onshore (cooler) wind increases, marine air will still be shallow – meaning drier above & away from the inner bay.  Fuel moisture content remains below average to near max dry values for mid-late Sept.
