Forecast: Chilly changes ahead

NBC Universal, Inc.

SATURDAY: Expect more clouds, more wind, and possibly a few showers and drizzle at times to wrap up the weekend. Highs will begin a downward trend into the 60s and low 70s on Sunday, with highs mainly in the low to mid-60s starting next week. Low temps, too, will dive into the low to mid-40s by midweek. This is definitely a big change from the weather earlier this month, so you may need to reset your wardrobe and your kids' school clothes accordingly.

We’ll see a mix of these conditions for the 49ers game on Sunday Night Football with breezy and cooler conditions, a notable change from the record temps not many Sundays ago.

We also have some shower chances into Monday, although the best chances may end up for areas in the North Bay, with another chance for some brief rain or showers Wednesday night into Thursday. However far more widespread will be the much cooler, breezy conditions including those colder nights ahead.

Between the chances for showers, on Tuesday, we’ll see a period of offshore wind, which does raise some elevated fire weather concerns inland. However, temperatures will be cool, and wind speeds don’t look as strong as last week, but bears watching. This will help usher in a drier and chillier air mass as well, which will set the stage for those cold mornings ahead as winds ease.
